The post Respawn releases statement on Apex Legends hacking saga appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>The hack, which injected cheating software into the gameplay of prominent players such as DarkZero’s Noyan “Genburten” Ozkose and TSM’s Phillip “ImperialHal” Dosen, raised questions about the security of Apex Legends and its anti-cheat measures.
Following a period of silence from both Respawn and EA, Respawn has now released a statement reassuring players that steps have been taken to bolster security.
They deployed initial updates aimed at fortifying the game’s defences and ensuring a secure gaming experience, with further measures promised in the future.
This announcement comes as a relief to many players who had expressed apprehension and even uninstalled the game in response to the breach.
The incident also prompted speculation about the vulnerability of Easy Anti-Cheat, the software used by Apex Legends to prevent hacking.
However, Easy Anti-Cheat conducted its investigation and confirmed that no Remote Code Execution (RCE) vulnerability existed within its system.
This suggests that the vulnerability lies within Apex Legends itself, potentially stemming from its modified version of the Source Engine.
Despite these reassurances, questions linger regarding the extent of the breach and its implications for the wider gaming community.

Respawn’s statement only vaguely references “a few” professional player accounts being hacked, leaving open the possibility that more players were affected.
Additionally, concerns persist about whether the breach originated from the game itself or through targeted actions against individual players’ devices.
In the midst of addressing these security concerns, Respawn also faces other challenges, including recent layoffs as part of EA’s company-wide restructuring.
As they navigate these challenges, players can expect ongoing updates and improvements aimed at maintaining the integrity and enjoyment of their gaming experience.

]]>The announcement was made in a blog post on the company’s website and confirmed that the shutdown would be effective on May 1, 2023. The 90-day window starting today is being given to players to wrap up their in-game activities before the mobile version of Apex Legends is officially terminated.
“We have made the painful decision to sunset Apex Legends Mobile. This decision does not come with ease. Factors beyond our control have prevented us from maintaining the high-quality experience and content that our players deserve,” Respawn said.
“As a result, the game will sunset on May 1, 2023 at 4pm PDT after which it will no longer be playable. Our gratitude to our players and teams for joining us on Apex Legends Mobile, even if for a short while, is unending. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.”
In the blog post, Respawn explained the reasons behind the decision to shut down the mobile version of Apex Legends. The company stated that it strives to provide players with consistently outstanding games and that, unfortunately, the content pipeline for Apex Legends Mobile had fallen short of the bar for quality, quantity, and cadence. Respawn further explained that, after months of working with its development partner, it was a mutual decision to sunset the mobile game.
At Respawn, we aim to provide players with games that are consistently outstanding. Following a strong start, the content pipeline for Apex Legends Mobile has begun to fall short of that bar for quality, quantity, and cadence, Respawn said.
It is for this reason, after months of working with our development partner, that we have made the mutual decision to sunset our mobile game. Although disappointing, we are proud of the game we launched, are grateful for the support of the Apex Legends community, and are confident that this is the right decision for players.
Apex Legends Mobile made its debut on May 17, 2022, featuring unique content such as the Legends Rhapsody and Fade, alongside classic maps and weapons from the original Apex Legends game. Despite the disheartening news, Respawn expressed its appreciation for the support of the Apex Legends community and stressed that the shutdown was in the best interest of players.
The shutdown of Apex Legends Mobile has been met with disappointment and frustration by many players, who have invested time and money into the mobile version of the game. However, Respawn has emphasized its love for the Apex universe and its players and has expressed its hope that the shutdown will not deter players from exploring the Apex Legends universe further.
Our love for the Apex universe and our players remains unchanged, the statement read.
We look forward to exploring this universe, its characters, and its stories along with you. In the meantime, we appreciate your continued support and patience as we navigate these next steps.
According to Respawn, no reimbursements will be offered for any transactions made using real money within Apex Mobile, in accordance with the EA User Agreement. To clarify any questions or concerns players may have regarding the shutdown, the company has also published a FAQ in its blog post.

]]>The post Apex Legends fans get first glimpse of Vantage in leaked teaser appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>The teaser season for Apex Legends is currently in high gear, but a new glimpse from what appears to be a forthcoming episode of Stories from the Outlands may have given fans more information than they had bargained for.
Fans who are keen on the business of Apex Legends?have uncovered the upcoming episode of Stories from the Outland titled ‘Survive’ from the?new trailer in the Apex client on Saturday. In addition, the preview included a female character who was wearing a headset and had black smudges on her face; however, Respawn Entertainment swiftly deleted this character from the game, and it is no longer accessible after logging into the game.
“Theres a new installment of the Stories from the Outlands! Watch Survive and meet the new Legend joining the Games in Apex Legends: Hunted, coming August 9!” the preview reads.
A character known as Vantage, who was the subject of a significant leak in March, has a striking resemblance to the lady seen in the teaser. Many people had the assumption that she would be the season 14 legend since she was one of the two characters, along with Newcastle, who had their own figure in the leak.
The skills of Vantage, which have been revealed, include the ability to teleport to a “winged companion” as her tactic. It is said that he passively provides her with the capacity to acquire intelligence by aiming down the sights of a “long-range scope” or by doing so while disarmed and targeting the adversary. She carries a specially crafted sniper rifle that can “mark” enemies as part of her greatest ability. The damage done by the weapon increases by a factor of two with each subsequent shot, and the marked foes are examined by Vantage’s crew.

The leaks that occurred in March comprised a total of nine legends, five firearms, and Crypto and Valkyrie heirlooms. The fact that both Heirlooms eventually showed up looking exactly like they were described in the leaks lends credence to the reliability of the other material that was revealed.
The video game company Respawn recently updated its Twitter with a series of lore nuggets that were styled like a journal. It was written as a caption on the post: “You’ve got to keep yourself occupied when you’re one of the only two individuals on the globe.” A girl who appeared to be youthful and full of energy?wrote about her hunts in each entry in her journal. There are drawings of the many animals that live on the globe on each page.
The in-game countdown for the battle pass indicates that the currently active season of Apex, known as Saviors, will conclude on August 9. The most recent?wave of sneak peeks for the upcoming season and its playable characters will most probably continue into the weeks leading up to the launch of season 14 which, if this Stories from the Outlands preview is any indication, is set to arrive on live servers on the same day as the teaser trailer.
Today, a new episode of Stories from the Outlands will be released, and it is probable that this episode will give fans a better look at the next playable character in the battle royale.?
Yesterday, Respawn Entertainment shared on Twitter a picture from the video, along with the date, time, and URL for when it will become available. The description is succinct and to the point, yet it does not reveal too much: “Tune in tomorrow, July 25, at 8:00 am PT for our next entry in Stories from the Outlands.”

]]>The new set record was reached after the season launched with the latest new character included in the game – ‘Newcastle’ – and changes to the players ranked mode and the map Storm Point. This is coming three years after launch and a year after its release on Steam, as it continues to surpass its own record.
??In the previous seasons, players faced issues that hampered their playing experience. An example of these issues faced was server instability. As a result of these several technical issues, dips were caused in FPS, and thereby fear of repetition left room for doubt concerning the recent 13th season. ??However, due to the new milestone achieved, it seems the players arent expressing technical difficulties in the game.
During Season 12 of the game, which launched on February 19, it managed to set a record of 393,000 concurrent players on Steam, which was much higher than the Season 9 record of 330,879 concurrent players during its launch in May 2021.??
According to Alpha Intel, the game reached an all-time high of 412,556 players on Steam, and this doesnt include the player base on platforms other than PC, except EAs PC platform and all consoles where Apex is available. Its quite possible that if all of the platforms were accounted for, the concurrent players might have surpassed 1 million.??
Apex Legends hit a new all-time peak player count on Steam for the Season 13 launch. Over 400,000 concurrent players on Steam for the first time ever,?? Alpha Intel reported via Twitter.
Electronic Arts revealed on May 10 that Apex Legends had generated over $2 billion in earnings since its launch in 2019. A mobile version of the game – Apex Legends Mobile – is scheduled to be released later in May 2022 and is said to support cross-platform play.
