The post T1 v Team Liquid LoL betting picks & odds – MSI 2024 Stage 2 appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>Team Liquid and T1 will clash on Wednesday in the lower section of the Mid-Season Invitational 2024 bracket stage. It will be their first meeting since the 2023 League of Legends World Championship, and despite all the roster changes on Liquid’s side, the rematch is expected to end with another T1 victory.
Team Liquid have already exceeded expectations in this tournament by beating Fnatic 3-1, but that result indicates the other side’s lack of stability more than anything. Even though Liquid played relatively well on the day, they have shown nothing over the journey to suggest they can go all the way.
T1 started the tournament with a deserved victory against G2 Esports, only to be humiliated by Bilibili Gaming last Sunday. T1 played poorly on the day, but it’s not like they were very clean against G2 Esports either, suggesting they aren’t as sturdy as they were portrayed to be.
The question is not so much about whether T1 will win, but about what Team Liquid can do. The favourites are the superior team by all metrics, and despite their iffy showings, T1 are still serious MSI 2024 title contenders.
This is T1’s game to lose; however, considering they are a bit inconsistent and Team Liquid have momentum on their side, there is value in backing the North American champions to take a map at +200 with the top LoL betting sites.

]]>Top Esports and G2 Esports will face off on Tuesday, May 14, in the second round of the losers’ bracket at Mid-Season Invitational 2024. Both squads dropped down to the lower bracket following close five-map defeats against Korean LoL esports teams, yet while their results look similar, Top Esports are priced as firm favourites for this match.
Top enter this fixture off a painful 2-3 defeat against Gen.G. While the result was fair, it also proved that the tournament’s top teams are much closer than the League of Legends betting markets are suggesting.
The question here is whether G2 Esports belong in that category. They performed well against T1 last Friday, and while they came up short on the day, they were close enough to indicate their head-to-head price of +462 was completely off.
T1 didn’t look good in their next series against Bilibili Gaming on Sunday, which also affects how people will see G2 Esports — as a team that nearly defeated a struggling side. But the eye test proves G2 are no slouches and more than capable of holding their own against elite opposition.
Top Esports have side choice for this match — a notable advantage, considering the blue side has a 54.5% win rate this tournament. But we saw G2 Esports defeat T1 on the red side, and across all series between top contenders, the side selection hasn’t seemed to affect performances too much.
Even though Top Esports are a very stacked team, they’re also somewhat inconsistent. So even though they performed well against Gen.G, having them priced as -250 favourites seems a bit optimistic. The outsiders are good enough to keep this series close, if not win it.

Team Liquid lost to Top Esports in the first round of Stage 2 in MSI 2024 in a series of three very one-sided maps. Top Esports were the clear better team on the day, showing better teamwork and stronger laning.
Fnatic, meanwhile, showed some fight in their loss to Gen.G on Wednesday and were in an excellent spot to take at least one map. However, while Fnatic put themselves in advantageous positions throughout the series, they consistently blundered their chances.
That’s nothing new with Fnatic. They like to brawn, and they’re good at it, but they also often get too far ahead of themselves and give up leads. This can be a considerable weakness even when faced with weaker teams, and it makes backing them to sweep Team Liquid a far less appealing option.
Even though there’s a good chance Fnatic shoot themselves in the foot at least once on Saturday, Team Liquid have shown nothing this split to make us believe they’re capable of winning this. And with side choice, Fnatic should get it done with a couple of maps to spare.

Gen.G defeated Fnatic on Wednesday in what was a much closer game than expected. On the other side, Top Esports ran over Team Liquid without any issues, but that tells more about Liquid than Top.
Korea’s top seeds are priced as firm favourites for this match, which makes sense — mainly because of how Top Esports like to play. While boasting an extremely stacked team, they are also very reliant on their early game.
Throughout the LPL 2024 Spring, Top Esports produced many dominant victories, but they all started with gaining a strong lead pre-15 minutes. Their ability to snowball is admirable, but it is also their main win condition, which can easily be denied by teams that are capable of a more controlled style of play — such as Gen.G.
Individually, Top Esports can compare to Gen.G or any other LoL esports team in the world. But stylistically, this match favours Gen.G far more.

]]>The post Bilibili Gaming v PSG Talon betting picks – MSI 2024 Stage 2 appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>Like the first two series of Mid-Season Invitational 2024 Stage 2, the battle between Bilibili Gaming and PSG Talon on Thursday, May 9, is expected to be very lopsided.
PSG Talon had a rough start to the tournament, suffering a 1-2 loss against FlyQuest in the first round of the play-in stage. But they showed improvement in the losers’ bracket with 2-0 sweeps of Estral Esports and FlyQuest to reach the final eight.
Bilibili Gaming were directly seeded into the second stage of the tournament as Chinas top-ranked League of Legends team. That alone makes them serious candidates to win MSI 2024, and Bilibilis performances this season make it hard to doubt their chances to hoist the trophy.
At -10000 with the top LoL betting sites, Bilibili Gaming are expected to win the series 99% of the time. While that number might be fair, it means we have to search for value.
If we assume PSG Talon have a 10% chance of winning any map, theres a 72.8% chance of a sweep, so taking Bilibili Gaming with a 2.5-map handicap at $1.27 doesnt offer any value. That is assuming 10% isnt too generous of an estimation for PSG, which it probably is.
The kill line of 12.5 for each map is a huge figure, it is one Bilibili Gaming can cover. They managed 16.4 kills on average in the LPL 2024 Spring Playoffs against much stronger opposition, and with the side choice, the favourites look set for a strong start to the series.

]]>The post Fnatic v Gen.G betting tips & odds – MSI 2024 Stage 2 appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>It should be a one-sided affair when Fnatic and Gen.G clash in the first round of the Mid-Season Invitational 2024 bracket stage on Wednesday, May 8. According to the odds, Gen.G are given a 99% implied probability of winning the series, which is an absurd number for a match between two teams from major regions.
Gen.G have made a strong case for themselves as one of the world’s best LoL esports teams this split. They dominated domestically with a 17-1 regular season record, adding a fairly smooth run to the organisation’s fourth consecutive LCK trophy.
Fnatic spent another split in G2 Esports’ shadow, keeping hold of their tag as Europe’s no.2 team. However, they have done well in the first stage of MSI 2024 and nearly beat Top Esports, proving they can hang with the big dogs.
Fnatic nearly beating Top Esports in part had to do with Top Esports not respecting Fnatic’s strong picks. Still, Marek “Humanoid” Brzda and co. showed some good things, namely the strong mid-jungle pairing and their willingness to create chaos with constant fighting. The latter could catch Gen.G off guard.
By all metrics, Gen.G are the superior team, but -10000 is an absurd price. Even though Gen.G would have to produce a blunder of the season to lose a best-of-three series, Fnatic are more than capable of winning a map. At +190 with BetOnline, this is a bet that’s hard to pass on.

The League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) has rarely produced competitive teams on the international stage. So even though FlyQuest only really struggled against Team Liquid in the LCS, their domestic success doesn’t mean much on the international stage.
FlyQuest field a few experienced players, namely Gabri?l “Bwipo” Rau and Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen, but the same applies to PSG Talon. The Pacific Championship Series (PCS) winners not only field seasoned players; they also have some of the top individual talent from the region, including mid laner Huang “Maple” Yi-Tang, ADC Lu “Betty” Yu-Hung, and jungler Yu “JunJia” Chun-Chia.
It can’t be overstated how stacked PSG Talon are, and while they’re rightly priced as favourites, even at -119.05, they’re very cheap. They field better players who are far more experienced on the international stage, and they’ve performed better throughout the split in a tougher league.

This could be the biggest mismatch of the tournament as LoL World Championship title holders T1 take on Liga Latinoamrica (LLA) champions Estral Esports. The underdogs are given a 6.4% implied probability of upsetting the Korean giants, so it’s easy to see how the game should end.
The kill line for this match is set at 14.5, which is an absurdly high number — especially considering how T1 like to play. With a 15.9 average kills per game in LCK 2024 Spring and the league’s shortest average game duration (30:38), T1 are not a bloody team — nor the type to play with their food.
This makes backing Estral Esports to keep T1 within 14 kills an inviting choice, but taking under 25.5 total kills makes more sense. Unless you believe Estral can show any meaningful resistance, this should be a quick match with few kills.

This news comes shortly after another North American shoutcaster, Clayton CaptainFlowers Raines, declared he wouldnt be participating in MSI 2024 either.
CaptainFlowers cited his sleep schedule and personal health as reasons for declining the opportunity to broadcast the event.
Additionally, his soy allergy made him hesitant to travel to China, where he would face food challenges similar to those he encountered during LoL Worlds 2023 in Korea.
CaptainFlowers announced his decision on social media, expressing regret but also emphasizing the talent and dedication of his colleagues who will be working the event.

He will be taking the full month of May off and wont be involved in any MSI-related content until the start of the LCS Summer Split in June.
With two key members absent, its uncertain how Riot will handle the broadcast team for MSI.
While Azael was included in the initial announcement, it remains to be seen if his spot will be filled or left vacant.
Riot has not yet revealed the full list of on-air talent for the event, which is set to kick off on Wednesday, May 1.

The annual Mid-Season Invitational will kick off on May 1 as the play-in stage takes place throughout the week, with four teams advancing to the bracket stage for the following week.
As the first international event of the League of Legends season, the world’s best will compete against each other for the first time outside of their regional leagues.
Esports betting sites have very little separating the top three in the “To Win Outright” market, with Bilibil Gaming (+240), Gen.G (+250) and T1 (+300) all given strong chances to claim the 2024 MSI title.

]]>Among the matchups, the defending LoL World Champions, T1, will take on Estral Esports, marking the start of what promises to be an exhilarating tournament at the Chengdu Financial City Performing Arts Center in China.
Estral Esports faces an uphill battle, with most of their lineup having limited international experience.
For instance, former FlyQuest jungler Brandon “Josedeodo” Joel Villegas has only attended Worlds 2020 with Rainbow7, while Cristian “Cody” Sebastin Quispe Yampara and Gabriel “Ackerman” Aparicio have seen action in MSI and Worlds in 2021.
On the other hand, T1 arrives with the weight of their recent World Championship win and a determination to redeem their loss to Gen.G in the LCK grand final.
In another matchup, FlyQuest will clash with PSG Talon, while Top Esports and LOUD will go head-to-head.
Fnatic, meanwhile, will face off against GAM Esports, setting the stage for an electrifying start to the tournament.
Expectations are high for the major region representatives to advance to the second round of the upper bracket.
If predictions hold, FlyQuest could potentially meet T1, while Fnatic may challenge one of China’s top teams, Top Esports.
However, the inclusion of a lower bracket offers a second chance for teams that stumble in the initial rounds, adding an extra layer of excitement and narrative to the event.
MSI 2024 introduces significant format changes, requiring second-seeded teams from major regions to navigate the play-in stage.
With powerhouses like Top Esports and T1 in the mix, the play-in bracket promises to be one of the most action-packed in LoL history.
As MSI approaches on May 1 in Chengdu, China, fans eagerly await the unfolding drama and excitement as teams vie for glory on the international stage.

]]>The post MSI 2023 betting predictions & best odds – T1 v JD Gaming appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>?T1 and JD Gaming entered the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational as the leading favourites to win the tournament. They breezed through the first two rounds of the bracket stage and will now clash for a ticket to the big finals.
T1 kicked off their MSI 2023 campaign with a dominant win against MAD Lions (3-0), to which they added a 3-2 victory against Gen.G (3-2), avenging their loss from the LoL Champions Korea (LCK) 2023 Spring finals. On the other side, JD Gaming crushed Golden Guardians (3-0) in the first round of the playoffs and then routinely disposed of Bilibili Gaming (3-0) for the third time this season.
Both teams looked incredible so far this tournament, which makes it tough to set them apart. But based on what we’ve seen, T1 shouldn’t be priced as favourites. Although still an elite-tier team, there’s no reason to believe that T1 are stronger than JD Gaming.
It’s tough to compare teams from two regions as there is no accurate way to measure the league’s strength, but JD Gaming have been playing a better League than T1 in 2023 and have looked much cleaner than the Koreans this tournament. Although T1 had a tougher road to the semifinals, the eye test proves JD Gaming should be better in this matchup mainly due to their strong early game.
At even odds or better, JD Gaming are an excellent choice.
