HAPPY GUYS and Bursaspor Esports will be out to secure a slot in the Megafon Champions League Grand Final in what should be a spiteful Dota 2 clash.

HAPPY GUYS did quite well in the group stage of the I Can’t Believe It’s Not Summit! tournament, despite being eliminated by Alliance in the Loser Bracket of Round 1.

From their drafting of late, we could see that the HAPPY GUYS have not been strong in that department, especially when up against teams that were better than them such as Alliance, NoPangolier and Team Spirit.

In the MegaFon Champion League though, they were able to make a good draft against NoNAME eSport and Kaipi.

Their Tiny and Medusa dual core heroes’ choice in game one against Kaipi on yesterday was a great move, although Kaipi tried to counter Medusa with Anti-Mage. HAPPY GUYS saw through that and kept on pressuring on pushing so Anti-Mage could not get much space to farm.

In game 2, Beastmaster from Buugi was on fire and created a lot of kills for his squad throughout the whole game. With the advantage Beastmaster created for the team, Slark was on killing streak after got his core item.

Bursaspor Esports is featuring few of formidable players such as Excalibur, a well-known player for his wide heroes’ pool knowledge and good gaming skill.

Pingvincek and EGM are also some good players that could provides Bursaspor Esports a better tier team in future.

Their most recent professional matches against Nemiga Gaming and MaksDoma in MegaFon Champions League 2 were also spamming Phantom Assassin. This is an advantage HAPPY GUYS can use by banning Phantom Assassin against them.

HAPPY GUYS vs Bursaspor betting prediction

After running our eye through the drafting abilities and recent performances in professional matches from both squads, we give HAPPY GUYS a 80% chance to win this match-up.

Our recommendation is to go low and bet on HAPPY GUYS to win the game at better than -277.78 at BetOnline.

Team Liquid confirmed their position as one of the best Dota 2 squads in the world after a flawless 2018 Megafon Winter Clash tournament.

In our review of Liquid’s victory, we’ll take a look through their journey at the tournament and those they vanquished along the way.

In the group stage, Miracle, the position one or two player from Team Liquid played four different heroes- Terrorblade, Phantom Assassin, Slark and Anti-Mage.

Team Liquid played a total of eighteen different heroes in four games, these picks prove that Team Liquid has no problem drafting — the only hero they repeated was Sand King.

In game one they took on Forward Gaming and drafted Terrorblade for Miracle and Timbersaw for Matumbaman, the carry from Team Liquid. Their flexibility of putting Miracle and Matumbaman in between position two certainly increased their web of drafting.

Liquid got themselves an advantage of 15,000 net worth points at the 22-minute mark. They had a good team fight around that time and traded Terrorblade and Shadow Demon for 6 enemies, including the respawn of the Lich.

Forward Gaming was forced to call GG when Team Liquid teared down their base.

Liquid drafted Phantom Assassin for Miracle in game 2 and Miracle just went berserk in farming and killing.

Thanks to the support from Chen and Tidehunter, he secured himself a very good farm in the game. At the 18-minute mark, his Phantom Assassin had BattleFury, Desolator, Power Threat, and also 3 Wraith Band (stacking of Wraith Band is the trending built for a lot of agility carries in this patch).

Miracle got himself rampage by “bathing” in enemy Fountain before Forwards Gaming called GG.

PSG.LGD drafted Anti-Mage in game 1 against Liquid. Liquid reacted to that by picking Slark. Slark’s Pounce now provides a mini silence to all heroes with escaping ability. Pounce in this latest patch provides a leashed state to the target, disallowing teleportation and mobility based abilities.

Anti-Mage cannot blink away while he was ganked by Slark, Anti-Mage had too much to worry about and could not farm safely in that game because of Slark. That game resulted in Liquid’s victory when Anti-Mage buyback and feed again at 28-minute mark.

In game 3, Liquid draft Anti-Mage for Miracle, but PSG.LGD never countered Anti Mage with Slark or any strong disable. Anti-Mage just got himself over-farmed and won the game with sixteen kills, zero death and four assists. After defeating PSG.LGD, they advanced to Winner’s Finals of the bracket and faced off Natus Vincere (Navi).

In game 1, they respected Navi’s Axe and banned Axe in first banning phase. Team Liquid picked IO and Phantom Assassin, Miracle’s Phantom Assassin enjoyed the game with 781 gold per minute and sixteen kills by the end of the game.

Navi had no way to comeback against the beast with Terrorblade as their core carry.

In game 2, Kuroky, the position five player from Team Liquid, carried the game along with GH, the position 4 from Team Liquid. Their dual support heroes – Tuskar and Chen – were doing roaming in that game. They crushed Navi and secure all laning advantage to their core without mercy, the game ended before the 18-minute mark because Navi had no way to recover from that situation.

After taking down Navi, their next match was to play against the winner of Loser’s Finals – Navi vs PSG.LGD. As Navi able to stand out against PSG.LGD, Liquid had their rematch against Navi in the Grand Finals with advantage of starting with a 1-0 lead.

Miracle picked Mepoo in the last game of the tournament, although Navi drafted Monkey King and Axe beforehand.

Navi should put Monkey King in middle lane up against Mepoo instead of letting sniper playing mid in that game because Monkey King has better chance in harassing and controlling Mepoo.

Navi’s mistake on that decision making was crucial and Miracle went unstoppable with nineteen kills and 828 golds per minute in that game.

Team Liquid showed the whole world they are ready to take on any Dota 2 team by winning the title without any lost in this tournament.

Coming into the tournament, Navi were considered the weakest team and had to deal with two of the strongest Dota 2 teams in the world — Virtus Pro and Team Secret — in the Group Stage.

Navi started their first match in this tournament against Team Secret. They first picked Axe in all 3 games played and fully utilized his adaptability. Axe can be put in position 3 or position 4 in this meta, so enemies will have trouble banning against Navi because they cannot determine how is Navi going to put in their strategy.

Although that match resulted in Secret’s victory, Navi’s favourable result over Virtus Pro afterwards was the crucial factor that secured themselves a top three finish in the tournament.

Navi continued their strategy of picking Axe in game 1 against Virtus Pro, along with Phoenix and IO. Axe and Phoenix combo picks are not something new in this meta, but their game play made certain of Phoenix’s ultimate skill – Supernova – always able to successfully deliver stuns to enemies, thanks to Axe’s Berserker’s call.

In Game 2, Virtus Pro respected their Axe and banned Axe in first banning phase. However, Navi still picked IO and Phoenix as their dual supports, working with Gyrocopter and Medusa. Gyrocopter and Medusa were both able to attack few units in one hit. IO is very strong to work with them because IO was able to provide attack speed and also Health point and Mana to them as long as IO has nice positioning.

Virtus Pro called GG when they realised that they had no way to fight against Medusa with Mana Shield and purchased both Manta and Eye of Skadi at the 25-minute mark.

After their victory over Virtus Pro, Navi advanced to fight against the winner of Group B – Team Liquid in the Winner’s Finals.

Team Liquid sent Navi to the Loser’s Final by taking down them with 2-0 solid victory without any mercy.

PSG.LGD who fought their way from Losers’ Round 1 by taking down Virtus Pro and Team Secret was the team Navi had to face.

The loser would be eliminated from the tournament and bring home USD 30,000. The winner to earn their chance to take on Liquid in Grand Finals.

PSG.LGD respected Navi’s IO and banned him, they also respected the trend of the patch and banned Phantom Assassin & Magnus, which was a safe play because Magnus and Phantom Assassin has too much potential to take the game easily.

However, their overconfidence in picking Anti Mage as their first pick was quite cocky and resulted in Navi countering with Terrorblade, Nyx Assassin and Outworld Devourer.

Anti-Mage was having a nice time in the early phase, however they realised Anti Mage could not do much in team fight because Nyx Assassin and Outworld Devourer kept on burning his mana, including Terrorblade’s reflection controlling the movement of Anti Mage.

So, they are played a split push with Anti Mage, but that did not go well for PSG.LGD as Navi was able to counter push with Terrorblade’s Illusion and Nyx Assassin roaming the map with invisible ability.

In game 2, Navi picked IO and Gyrocopter combo picks again because PSG.LGD never banned one of them in the first banning phase. Navi got themselves the advantage of drafting in game 2 and the game went well for them. Gyrocopter even had Ultra Kill at the 14-minute mark in the game by contesting around the Roshan Pit.

Although Navi was able to advance into Grand Finals, Liquid was too strong, bringing down Navi with two easy wins.

Virtus Pro have only played five professional matches in the 7.20 patch. They took down Se7en Esports, Team Spirit, Empire Hope and Gambit Esport. Their only lost was against NoPangolier in a 2-1 thriller.

In game 1 of the match-up against NoPangolier, they picked Magnus and Spectre, which seems like a strong strategy because Spectre is a carry hero that always lacks of farming ability. Magnus’s Empower solved the problem, but their choice of Rubick as position 2 was a mistake. Phantom Assassin from the enemy team had no pressure from farming his item in middle lane because Rubick couldn’t dealt much damage.

They drafted Rubick again in game 2, however, the enemy picked Skywrath Mage in middle lane instead of hardcore carry. So Rubick did not have the pressure of controlling the Skywrath Mage and could roam and secured kills for his team. That game ended in Virtus Pro’s Victory because Skywrath Mage had no way to comeback after he lost against Rubick in middle lane.

Virtus Pro in game 3 lost against NoPangolier because NoPangolier drafted Phantom Assassin again along with Magnus. Lone Druid as their carry as well, these picks were very stressful for Virtus Pro because Lone Druid and Phantom Assassin able to join team fight anytime they want, their do not need much of reliance on item in order to win teamfight.

Secret is playing with Eyyou standing for Yapzor.

Virtus Pro vs. Team Secret betting prediction

After analysing the drafting abilities and individual skill of both teams, we give Virtus Pro a 60% chance to win this match-up.

Our recommendation is to go medium and bet on Virtus Pro at better than -175.44 at BetOnline.

After reviewing the draft of Liquid against Vega Squadron and The Final Tribe in the group stage of Chongqing Major Europe Qualifier, we’ve realised that Liquid is prioritising Magnus in their draft, which worked well with Terrorblade or Anti Mage as their carry.

This could be one of the advantages Forward Gaming has in this clash, because banning Magnus against Liquid might able to put some pressure on Liquid’s draft.

Forward Gaming’s performance of late in the Chongqing Major North America Qualifier showed they are not drafting carries all too frequently. They played a lot of carries including Lone Druid, Medusa, Monkey King, Phantom Assassin and Phantom Lancer. Liquid will be having trouble out-drafting Forward Gaming.

Furthermore, Aui_2000, the coach from Forward Gaming might also able to surprise Liquid in drafting. Aui_2000 is a good support player — his knowledge and understanding of Dota 2 is incredible.

Pugna, one of the strong laning phase heroes in this patch, is also a strength that Forward Gaming could try to utilise.

Yawar, the position 1 player from Forward Gaming, is very good in using Pugna, his item choice is situational, which is why we are amazed by him. His Pugna was not locked by getting Dagon only, but he also purchase Blink Dagger and Eul’s Scepter for survivability if enemies able to lock down him and kill him very quickly.

Team Liquid vs. Forward Gaming betting prediction

After analysing the drafting abilities and last head-to-head match between the two teams, we give Team Liquid a 70% chance to win this match-up.

However, considering this is best-of-one series and odds, our recommendation is to go low and bet on Forwards Gaming at better than +200 at BetOnline.

In the match-up against Liquid on November 30, Secret took down Liquid 2-1. However, we must ignore their draft and game play in the match because the match was a dead-rubber as both were already qualified for the Main Tournament of the Chongqing Major.

After reviewing Team Secret’s recent draft we found they picked a lot of carries in this latest patch, including Morphing, Lone Druid, Monkey King, Phantom Assassin and the other tier 1 and tier 2 carries.

Their first playoffs match against The Final Tribe displayed a different draft style. Visage and Phantom Assassin were picked in game 1 as their core heroes, but this was not a good decision. However, their game play is far above The Final Tribe and they still won the game without too much pressure.

In game 2, they even drafted Magnus as their position 4 and Kunka as position 2. Kunkka’s tidebringer allows his next attack will be damaging an area of enemies every second. With Magnus’s Empower, his farm and impact in team fight was too strong. Midone, the position 2 player from Team Secret is very good at using Kunkka. He even purchased Divine Rapier at 30-minute mark and ended the game with incredible cleave damage dealt to enemies.

Natus Vincere is struggling in tier 2 to tier 3 gameplay, their performance of late is quite disappointing. Their lost against Team Empire Hope and Gambit Esports in group stage of Chongqing Major CIS Qualifier was telling the world they are not ready to play against any tier 2 team at the moment. Not only that, they even lost to some pub stack team in Open Qualifier of Bucharest Minor.

Team Secret vs. Natus Vincere betting prediction

After analysing the drafting abilities and recent performance of both teams, we give Team Secret a 80% chance to win this match-up.

However, considering this is a best-of-one series match, our recommendation is to go low and bet on Team Secret at better than -500 at BetOnline.
