The talks about DWG KIA slowing down are way overstated and while it may be true that they are not playing as aggressively as they did earlier in the season, that doesn’t mean this team isn’t efficient. DWG KIA’s playstyle is not necessarily very flashy and they might not be winning games in 20 minutes, but they instead slowly choke out their opponents, leaving them with no chance to come back.
Since DWG KIA are arguably the best LOL team in the world currently, the question here is not so much whether they can defeat Gen.G, but what can Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong and co. do to escape DWG KIA’s constriction.
Gen.G are a very powerful team with some of the best players in the league, but they seemed a bit wonky of late – particularly with their decision making. They put up a solid fight against the reigning LoL world champions in January (1-2), but with the way DWG have been playing of late, Gen.G will need to produce something remarkable to come even close to winning.
A bet on over 33:00 total time can also be considered for this match. Five out of DWG KIA’s last seven maps lasted for over 33:00 minutes and it’s unlikely they will manage (or want) to speed up the game against a strong opponent like Gen.G.
DWG KIA -1.5 maps
Over 33:00 (total game time)

Hanwha Life Esports are very difficult to figure out, but it’s obvious that this team either wins or loses based on Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon’s performances. Although depending on one player to do all the heavy lifting is not the optimal approach, Chovy is one of the few players who can take on that role, while making a case for being the best player in the world.
That said, HLE have enough holes in other positions for us to have a reason to doubt their strength and while HLE might not have volatile individuals, their approach of playing around one player is bound to produce volatile results.
KT Rolster haven’t been a model of consistency this split either and while it’s hard to forget how they have struggled against some bottom-table teams, KT Rolster punched up a couple of times as well. To a lesser extent than HLE with Choivy, KT Rolster rely on Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon to deliver and with his current form on top of decent showings of their other lanes, we can imagine KT Rolster stealing at least one map on Thursday.
