G2 ESPORTS vs FNATIC LEC 2020 SUMMER PLAYOFFS BETTING PREVIEW

Either G2 Esports or Fnatic will go one step closer to claiming their eighth title when they clash this weekend in the upper bracket of the League of Legends European Championship (LEC) Summer 2020 playoffs.

To say Fnatic did not look too sharp throughout the regular season would be taking it lightly. Martin “Rekkles” Larsson and the boys failed to impress their fans and only barely scraped into the playoffs with a 9-9 record.

Fnatic looked more like also-rans than title contenders leading into the playoffs, namely due to their questionable synergy and iffy individual performances. They have a reputation for lifting in the postseason, however, and that proved to be the case once again when they stomped Rogue 3-0 in the first round to secure a spot at the 2020 LoL World Championship.

G2 Esports’ run through the LEC 2020 Summer regular season was similarly underwhelming. While they managed a top-three finish, this was their worst split since they finished fourth in the EU LCS 2018 Spring.

But G2, like Fnatic, tend to perform significantly better when the title is on the line, and it showed in their commanding 3-1 win against MAD Lions in the first round of the playoffs. While the series went to four maps, it was a one-sided contest where MAD Lions never looked like winning.

Much of G2’s success of late comes down to the incredible performances of their star mid-laner, Rasmus “Caps” Winther. We also can’t forget to mention Luka “Perkz” Perkovi?, who is starting to find form after a difficult split.

G2 ESPORTS vs FNATIC LEC 2020 SUMMER PLAYOFFS BETTING PREDICTIONS

The recent head-to-head record is firmly in favour of G2 Esports. They have won each of their last three league meetings with Fnatic, including a dominant 3-0 result in the LEC Spring 2020 finals back in April.

Despite that alarming imbalance of power, there is no denying that Fnatic looked very strong in their match against Rogue. Tim “Nemesis” Lipov?ek was outstanding with a 13.0 KDA, while Oskar “Selfmade” Boderek tore the opposition apart on his Evelynn. Rekkles was as solid as ever, while his support, Zdravets “Hylissang” Iliev Galabov, did not look too bad in contrast to his mishaps during the regular season.

G2 Esports are the rightful favourites, but Fnatic’s display against Rogue suggests this match can go the distance. We like the underdogs to cover the map line and make their arch-rivals work for their place in the LEC Summer grand finals.
