It’s all about the 2020 League of Legends World Championship play-in stage in today’s free esports betting predictions. We also have odds and tips for the ESL Pro League Season 12, where Team Liquid and 100 Thieves will go head-to-head in the North American playoffs.

100 Thieves earned their spot in the ESL Pro League playoffs by the skin of their teeth, finishing the regular season in fourth place (4-3) above Chaos Esports Club due to a better map differential (+20). Team Liquid saw slightly more success, claiming third place with a 5-2 record.

These teams last met during the first week of the competition, where Liquid managed an impressive reverse sweep (2-1) in a close affair. 100 Thieves have since gained some traction with their 2-0 sweeps of FURIA and Triumph on Sunday and Tuesday respectively and look set to claim a revenge win.

Liquid have a better team on paper, but we don’t see them winning this match without dropping a map. Hence, our money is on the overs.

League of Legends World Championship Play-In

MAD LIONS vs INTZ LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

LoL Betting Odds: MAD -500 at BetOnline | INTZ +317 at BetOnline

Even though Marek “Humanoid” Brázda is the only player on the roster with any experience at this level, MAD Lions are billed as the strongest team in Group A of the 2020 LoL World Championship play-in stage. That is because they dominated the LoL European Championship (LEC) for most of the summer split, although they butchered their run through the playoffs.

INTZ return to the LoL Worlds stage for the first time since 2016 as the only Brazilian representatives in China. While Lucas “Maestro” Pierre’s efforts in the second split of the Campeonato Brasileiro de League of Legends (CBLOL) are nothing to sneeze at, the level of play in that league is significantly lower than what MAD Lions are used to in the LEC.

A lot can happen in a best-of-one (Bo1) series, but we expect the favourites will leave nothing to chance here.

PSG TALON vs RAINBOW7 LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

LoL Betting Odds: Talon -140.85 at BetOnline | R7 +104 at BetOnline

It’s hard to be overly excited about Rainbow7 – not necessarily because they have underperformed domestically, but because Liga Latinoamérica (LLA) is not a strong league.

While the Pacific Championship Series (PCS) is without a doubt the better competition, PSG Talon will have to make do without mid laner Park “Tank” Dan-won, jungler Kim “River” Dong-woo and ADC Wong “Unified” Chun Kit due to travel restrictions. Chen “Uniboy” Chang-Chu, Hsiao “Kongyue” Jen-Tso and Chen “Dee” Chun-Dee will play in their stead.

Those changes don’t make PSG Talon weaker individually, but they will harm their synergy and communication. This leads us to believe PSG will be somewhat disorganised for their opening bout, which is a perfect recipe for Rainbow7 to pick up a few kills.

LGD vs PSG TALON LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

LoL Betting Odds: LGD -909.09 at BetOnline | Talon +479 at BetOnline

As much as everyone loves an underdog, the quality gap between PSG Talon and LGD Gaming is so immense that we are giving the PCS representatives little to no chance of upsetting China’s fourth seed.

LGD are by no means one of the favourites to lift the Summoner’s Cup, nor are they a particularly consistent team, but the sheer quality of their individual pieces is more than enough for us to declare that Han “Peanut” Wang-ho and co. will lock in top spot in their play-in group.

Even though upsets are fairly common in Bo1 series, there is no reason to side with PSG Talon here. LGD’s match odds are short, so the kills line looks the way to go.

MAD LIONS vs TEAM LIQUID LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

It’s likely that MAD Lions are priced as favourites for this clash because they looked better than Team Liquid throughout the season in what is arguably a much stronger division than the LoL Championship Series (LCS). However, we would not write off the American side just yet.

Unlike MAD, who are mostly rookies on the international stage, Liquid have four players with previous LoL Worlds experience, including two former world champions in support Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in and top laner Jung “Impact” Eon-yeong. Liquid will struggle taming MAD Lions and their explosive playstyle, but we trust the NA representatives can give their European counterparts a run for their money.
